SPRING CAMP (APR 27): All returning students and incoming freshmen welcome; free for players of all levels
We have both Men's and Women's teams. Players from all grade levels at Anderson High School practice together and play as gender-specific teams in competitions. Water polo season is Fall and practices will begin August 1 (location TBD). The team is led by Coach Eric Swanson.

FAQs:
Do I have to be on swim team to play?
NO. While water polo IS a swimming sport, players do not need to have current or prior competitive swim team experience to play.
Can I play even if I already play another sport?
YES. Most of our athletes have played other sports! Our season is August through early October, so it aligns with many sports' off seasons. Some of our former and current players have athletic backgrounds in basketball, wrestling, football, soccer, and (of course) swimming. Please let all the coaches know if you have a conflict with any portion of the calendar.
Can I play even if I've never heard of water polo before now?
YES. It's a fast growing sport, but many people in Texas have never seen it played. You will not be alone in being a newbie! Our coaches can't teach you *how* to swim, but they can teach you how to swim better, how to do that crazy eggbeater kick, and all the fundamentals of the game.
Are you serious that Freshmen can play?
ABSOLUTELY YES. Unlike most sports, we do not expect our players to arrive in high school with water polo experience. We welcome students from all grade levels and all ability levels.
What other opportunities does this sport offer?
LOTS! Once you fall in love with the sport (and most players do, because it's FUN), you can take it as far as you would like.
There are local club teams that play year round, and they compete in tournaments ranging from local game days to the USA Water Polo National Junior Olympics. (Yes, even a novice player can compete in a National level tournament this summer!)
Yes, there are opportunities to play in college. Several Anderson graduates are playing/have played at the collegiate level!
Even if you "only" play with the Anderson team, you will get all the benefits of being involved in a FUN team sport.
